| Robert Hannafin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Connecticut. He earned received his Ph.D. in Learning and Instructional Technology at Arizona State University in 1994. His research interests include examining open learning environments and technology integration in public school classrooms. For TNE, Hannafin will be identifying ways to use technology to support UConn teachers during the induction years. |

| Michael F. Young is Associate Professor of Educational Psychology and Coordinator of the Educational Technology program at the Neag School of Education, the University of Connecticut. He received his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1989 in the areas of cognitive and educational psychology, perception and spatial cognition. His background includes 5 years as a high school mathematics and computer teacher with K-12 responsibility for the use of computers at the University School of Nashville. He has been the project manager of two federal grants designed to make microcomputers accessible to blind youth and has worked as a human factors/training consultant to HCA and Honeywell's Aerospace and Defense Group. Dr. Young teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Educational Technology, Distance Learning, Video Designs for Learning, Instructional Design, and Situated Cognition. Dr. Young's research concerns how people think and learn, and specifically how technology can enhance the way people think and learn, such as with his NSF-funded project, GEEWIS (http://www.geewis.uconn.edu/). In addition to authoring nine chapters on an ecological psychology approach to instructional design, he has published more than two dozen peer reviewed research papers in a variety of journals. |
